Something Sweet: Tara Jarvis & Drew Kodituwakku
This couple planned everything together, resulting in the perfect day.
Proposal: A few days before Christmas, Tara was woken up by her dog, Ari, who was wearing a bowtie. She was given a clue in a love letter, which led her to her next card on the Christmas tree. As the song “This Town” played in the background, Tara followed each clue around the tree until it led her to a final white box, delicately tied with a red bow. Drew got down on one knee and wedding planning began!
Flower power: The greenery was lush and you could smell the lovely eucalyptus leaves, which were mixed in with olive branches and soft touches of blush and cream flowers (café au laits, dahlias, roses and more). The hanging centrepiece above the head table softened the look of the exposed brick room interior.
Planning advice: Tara says, “Take the planning stage seriously. My husband had the details planned meticulously and the procrastinator in me greatly appreciated it. The extra hustle allowed us to really enjoy every minute of the day.”
The honeymoon: Tara and Drew spent a few weeks in Sri Lanka, where Drew spent his first seven years of life. Drew’s mother planned the trip, which featured temples and landmarks, the tea plantations in the mountains, the jungles and majestic elephants, as well as, according to the bride, the best food ever.
Creative mind: Drew put a lot of creative energy into the wedding, designing the menus, creating the
seating chart, perfecting the lighting and even coming up with the theme.
